Quality Control Analyst – Weekend Shift
Weekend shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (12 hours per day)
- Independently perform chemical and physical analyses according to the established schedule, in compliance with Groupe PARIMA’s specifications, methods, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Participate in the maintenance of the laboratory and its instruments, the management of reagents and inventories, and the training of junior analysts.
- Work in accordance with health and safety rules and report health and safety risks to supervisors.
The Quality Control Analyst…
Responsibilities:
- Independently and proficiently perform analyses of finished products, bulk products, raw materials, and stability samples in accordance with current methods.
- Critically assess results and ensure compliance with the standards established by current procedures.
- Enter analytical results into the LIMS using sound judgment and compare them with trend analyses.
- Ensure the integrity and quality of data in the Quality Control laboratory.
- Assist with and participate in the training of junior analysts.
- Perform the maintenance or calibration of all assigned laboratory instruments within the prescribed timelines.
- Help maintain inventories of reagents, solvents, and consumables required for analyses and the proper operation of the laboratory.
- Draft and actively participate in laboratory investigations.
- Participate in laboratory problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow health and safety rules and report health and safety risks to supervisors.
- Occasionally perform certain Senior Analyst duties during absences.
- Perform any other duties required for the proper operation of the laboratory.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in science (chemistry, biochemistry) or a related field.
- At least five (5) years of Quality Control experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of Canadian Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements (Health Canada).
- Knowledge of the USP, Ph. Eur., and BP pharmacopoeias and their application in a laboratory setting.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Ability to train junior staff.
- Demonstrated initiative.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Bilingual in French and English.
