Team Leader, Analytical Services

Work schedule: 6:30AM-7:00AM to 3:00PM-3:30PM

The Team Leader is responsible for the smooth running of analytical activities and progress in regards to deadlines established for laboratory activities.  He/she acts as a subject matter expert for Analytical Service activities within the company and with clients and also acts as a resource person for the Analysts.

Responsibilities:

  • Assign the analyses of finished products, bulks, raw materials and stability and participate in analyses as needed
  • Provide support to Analysts and supervise the compilation of data
  • Ensure the integrity and quality of data at the QC laboratory
  • Act as a leader in problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Responsible for laboratory investigations
  • Ensure good communication with the clients and the different departments
  • Coordinate and participate in the training of employees
  • Supervise the maintain of reagents, solvents and consumables inventories
  • Write and review procedures related to the QC laboratory
  • Participate in the development and/or validation of new analysis methods

Skills and experience required:

  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) or a Bachelor in Science (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Program, or a discipline related)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality control in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Knowledge of Canadian Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) (Health Canada) and American (FDA)  
  • Knowledge of laboratory investigation guides (FDA guidance to OOS and OOT investigations, MRHA)
  • Knowledge of Pharmacopoeias (USP, Ph. Eur. and BP) and their applications within a laboratory
  • Knowledge with the following techniques: HPLC (UPLC) et GC 
  • Skills in planning, decision making and problem solving
  • Bilingual (French and English)
